George Byron Garrett Jr., 86 of Silver Creek, MS, died Friday, March 7, 2014 at his residence in Silver Creek, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS. Burial will be in Monticello United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Garrett was born in Lawrence County, MS. His hobbies were hunting and fishing, and being with his family. Mr. Garrett served in the United States Air Force during the Berlin Airlift, which saved hundreds of thousands of lives. He found the most pleasure in a hard days work, and he enjoyed gardening, and football, and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan.
