Florence "Faye" Pierce, age 91, residing in Sarasota, Florida, has passed peacefully away in the early hours of Saturday, November 7th. Florence Driscoll was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on January 7th, 1924. Married to Victor E. Pierce of Monticello Mississippi on August 24th, 1951, they remained married until the time of Victor's passing in 1989. Florence graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1946 from Clark University and was in the Phi Beta Kappa sorority. She was an elementary school teacher for many years, later working with children's special needs as an academic diagnostician. "Faye" loved education, and traveled the world as she raised a family, living in Aruba, Madrid, Paris, London, and Houston before retiring to Sarasota with her husband. She will be buried at Galilee Baptist Church cemetery on Saturday, November 14th at 10:00 am at her husband's side. There will be a graveside service for friends and family. One of six children, she is predeceased by her siblings Kathleen Driscoll, Joseph Driscoll, Rita Drew, and Martha McManus. She is survived by her son David Pierce, daughter Cynthia Stuart, Cynthia's husband John Stuart, and a younger brother John Patrick Driscoll. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Scott and Christopher Dulyea, Zachary and Jacob Pierce, and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing, and will be both remembered and missed by all that knew her.
