Obituary

Rebecca Fay Fox Finch, 87, died July 6, 2023, at her residence in Monticello, MS.  She was born in McComb, MS, on December 18, 1935, to George Hollie Fox and Eloise Cunningham Fox.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home; funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, at the Monticello United Methodist Church with graveside services following in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.

Fay graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Music and Education.  She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano for many years.  Fay retired from the Lawrence County School system as a teacher.  She was a dedicated educator with a strong sense of the importance of schooling.  She took a personal interest in her students and encouraged them to strive to be the very best they could be. Fay was a member and past office holder with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4889, was a member of the Monticello Garden Club, and had been active in the Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her husband, Carey Carl Finch.

Survivors are her son, Joe Fox Finch, her daughters, Holly Latham and Christi Sowell; her grandchildren Carl and Logan Finch, Casey Moss and Jackson Latham; and her great grandchildren, Tucker, Kaylee, Glenn, and Clark Finch.
