Mrs. Edwina Nelson Boutwell, 84, of Monticello, MS passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020 at her residence in Monticello, MS. Edwina was born February 20, 1936, in Lawrence County, Mississippi to Alex and Ida Miller Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Carmel Baptist Church in Monticello, and continuing Monday February 24, 2020 from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM with graveside services following in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.  Bro. Phil Hemby and Bro. Jimmy Harvey will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Edwina was retired from Lawrence County Hospital as an LPN, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a kind-hearted woman who enjoyed caring and providing for others, especially close friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church in Monticello. Edwina will be missed by everyone.

Edwina is survived by her husband, Edward Boutwell of Monticello, MS; daughter Sonya Mahaffey of Monticello; grandchildren, Shane Boutwell, Jeana Lambert, Bradi Hearn and Sawyer Mahaffey; great grandchildren Tanner Boutwell, Kade Boutwell, Riley Lambert, Avery Lambert and Hayleigh Hearn.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, Alex and Ida Nelson; brother A Wilson; sisters Hattie Lee Hedgepeth and Dorothy Hall and son Junior Boutwell.
