Mr. Eddie Wayne Young, 67, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. Wayne was born on June 3, 1954 to Ida Elois Deare King and Diamond Pinkney Young.

Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday May 12, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continuing Friday May 13, 2022 from 11:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM at Carmel Baptist Church in Monticello, with graveside services following in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello. Bro. John Grimes will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Wayne enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman who collected antiques and liked history, reading, and crossword puzzles. Wayne loved his children, nature, music, animals, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Wayne is survived by his children, Brandi Marie Young Sutton (Dustin) of NewHebron, Mississippi, Daniel Wayne Young of NewHebron, Matthew Young of Monticello, Derek Young of Pearl, Mississippi, and Jennifer Powell Ottaway of Alabama; grandchildren, Donavon Lomax Young and Daron Lane Young; and brothers, Ronald, Harold, Michael, Kerry, and Kevin Young.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Rhonda Grimes.
