Eddie Joe Davis was born on October 13, 1947 to Jewel "Dude" Davis and Mattie Lou Davis. He passed away at his home on April 17, 2025. He was a retired millwright mechanic from Georgia Pacific where he worked for 40+ years. After retirement, he came home to enjoy the simple life. He found his greatest joys from doing things such as spending time with his family, cutting grass, and watching the traffic pass, and visiting with his lifelong friends and neighbors, Carey Hedgepeth, James Wilson, and Lorraine Hyde.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Wilson Funeral Home at 904 W. Thomas E. Jolly Drive, Monticello, MS. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS. Bro Philip Alford will officiate. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-587-2573
He is proceeded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Nicole Kitchens; and a son-in-law, Bubba Kitchens. He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Kitchens of Sand Hill; son, Steve Davis (Amy) of Monticello; grandchildren, Andrew Dawsey(Heather), Joshua Dawsey, Abigail Davis, Shelby Davis, and Audrey Davis; and three great-grandchildren; Deklin, Chase, and Winnie Dawsey.
