Dorris Hodges Lambert, 71, of Jayess, Mississippi passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Diversicare in Tylertown, MS. Dorris was born September 11, 1952 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Curtis Leroy and Ida Mullins Hodges.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS. Graveside services will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Jayess, MS. Bro. James Sanders will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Dorris was a homemaker and spent her time gardening, lovingly tending her flowers while watching the butterflies and birds fly in the breeze. She greatly cared for animals, especially her constant companions, her cat babies. She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed spending time with them, making memories that will always be cherished. Dorris collected angel figurines. She talked about how she would one day become an angel and join her family who had gone "home" before her.

Dorris is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Leroy and Ida Mullins Hodges; brothers, Curtis Randall, Larry Glenn & Garry Lynn; and grandson, Timothy Ryan Stoner.

Dorris is survived by her sister, Diane DeWitt; daughters, Angela Strange Stoner (Chris) of Jayess, Alicia Strange of Brooklyn, Adrienne Strange of Vicksburg; and grandchildren Josh Stoner, Sean Strange, Megan Wallace, Alyssa Marbury, Aiden Strange and Ethan Strange; along with many extended family and friends.
