Dorothy Herrington Lambert, 86 of Jayess, MS went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at her residence in Jayess, MS. She was born Saturday, October 28, 1939 in Quitman, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Divide Memorial Methodist Protestant Church in 8 Divide Road, Monticello, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Divide Memorial Methodist Protestant Church in Monticello, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Divide Memorial Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery in Monticello, Mississippi.  Bro. Matt Lambert and Bro. Grant Brister will officiate. She was a graduate of Quitman High school and then of Mississippi College. Dorothy taught in private and public schools in Jackson for many years. She retired from the Mississippi Department of Energy and Transportation. She was a person of varying hobbies with many talents. Dorothy was very active in the church for years due to the fact of having a strong relationship with her Lord. She was also known as a person that gave from her heart. She leaves behind a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Sebie Cordell Lambert; father, C.V Herrington, Sr.; mother, Erleine Herrington; brother, C.V. Herrington, Jr.; grandchild, Joseph Lambert, Jr.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Lambert, Sr. (Missie) of Rogers, AR; daughters, Julia Lambert and Janice Lambert of Jayess, MS.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to her caregivers and to Arden Hospice for the love and care that was shown to Mrs. Dot.
