Ms. Dorothy Griffith Jackson, 84, of Monticello, MS, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Dorothy was born October 28, 1939 in Prentiss, MS to Ethel and Louise Griffith.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:30 PM until time of the funeral services at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 22, at Wanilla Baptist Church in Monticello, MS. Bro. Jeff Vosbrink will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy was married to her beloved husband Richard Wayne Jackson until his passing July 30, 1991. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Louise Griffith; her daughter, Darlene Jackson; and son, Wayne Jackson.

She is survived by her children; Teresa Jackson, and Terry and Mark Russell. She also leaves behind grandchildren; Heather and Dusty Owens, Amanda and Shawn Davis, Lindsey and Wade Brouillette, Will and Carina Russell, Carly Jackson, and Courtney McDermit. The great-great grandchildren are Jackson Owens, Gannon Owens, Maevi Owens, Madelyn Russell, Owen Russell, Morgan Barnes and Eloise Anders.

Dorothy worked for many years at Kellwood in Monticello, MS. After that, she focused on her children, grandchildren, and service to Wanilla Baptist Church. Ms. Dorothy, as everyone called her, will be greatly missed by her church family where she will forever be remembered and loved for her service, piano playing, and devotion. Dorothy was an excellent cook, seamstress, crafter, and gardener among other things.
