Dorothy Martin Givens Hill, 73, was called home from this life on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at her residence in Tilton, MS. Mrs. Hill was born October 9, 1943, in Bassfield, MS to Wilburn and Mildred Greene Martin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 5:00 PM until10:00 PM at Sauls Valley Baptist Church with funeral services on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 3:00 PM with graveside services following in Sauls Valley Cemetery. Bro. Winston Fortenberry and Bro. Archie Herrin will preside over the services; Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dot worked for twenty years as a nurse at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, McComb, MS. She loved to serve others and worked in the mission field both home and abroad. Dot was a faithful member of Sauls Valley Baptist Church and will be missed by her church family and friends.
Surviving her is husband Tommie Hill of Jayess; daughter Barbara Ann Dixon (Noah) of Dacula GA and Monticello, MS; son Billy Michael Givens (Judy) of BallGround, GA; daughter Mary Hazel Hill of Monticello; son Fred Allen Hill of Fort Gordon, GA; sons James Dean Hill and Tommie Hill of AL; Daughters Connie Cutrer and Wendy Hill of AL. Brothers Wilburn Martin Jr. (Donna) of Sontag, MS and Terry Dewayne Martin of Monticello, MS; sisters Inez Shows (Michael) of Ocean Springs, MS and Sue Cuevas (Robert) Gulfport, MS; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Additionally she is survived by her care taker and friend, Veronica Holmes Howell.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Billy Ford Givens; brother Glenn Martin.
