Dephama was many different things to many different people. She was the devoted wife to Danny for over 49 years, the absolute love of his life. She was a caring mother, a loving grandmother, a fierce friend, and a devout Christian. She loved crafting, building new friendships, weekend trips, and snuggling with her pup, Phoebe. Her door was always open to those who needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, or even a meal. She always made sure everyone felt welcome; no-one was turned away.

Dephama was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church for well over 30 years where she served with unwavering dedication and in numerous capacities. In years past she was an inspiration to you girls as she led GAs, lifted her voice in joyful praise in the choir, volunteered for VBS, and in recent years held an administrative position.

Dephama will forever be missed by all who knew her. She is Home now in the loving arms of Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Kermit Peavy.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Cody of Monticello, MS; son, Joseph Cody; daughter-in-law, Kristi Cody; daughter, Tara Cody Gibson (Cory); mother, Peggy Merle Smith; sisters, Vewanna Nations and Yolanda Lecompte; grandchildren, Jadahlin Davis, Jedichi Davis, Hayden Cody, Parker Cody and Lucas Cody.
