David Wayne Martin, 71, of Silver Creek, Mississippi passed away on April 17, 2026, peacefully at his home. David was born on July 30, 1954, to Calvin T. Martin and Johnnie Merle Hamilton Martin.

A time of visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello, Mississippi on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 1:30-3:00 PM.

Funeral services will be conducted at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello, Mississippi on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 3:00PM. Graveside services will be private. Minister is Bro. Tommy Myers. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

David had great interest in reading and studying the bible. He loved to share his faith with other people any chance he got. David never met a stranger. His favorite pastime was hunting and being outdoors. His greatest love was family. He was proud to be called pawpaw by his grands and loved spending time with them.

David was preceded in death by his father, Calvin T. Martin.

David is survived by his spouse of 52 years, Dyan Martin; his son, Luke Martin (Melanie); grandchildren, Roy Martin (Eliza), Grace Gomez (Ricardo), Hannah Martin, Chloe Martin; one great grandson, Jackson "Jack" Martin; his mother, Johnnie Martin; brothers, Eddie Martin (Lyllian), Ricky Martin (Katrina); and host of special nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Luke Martin, Roy Martin, Ricardo Gomez, Grace Gomez, Hannah Martin, and Chloe Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers are Landon Martin, Loren Martin, David Wright and Tarvey Ward
