Funeral services for David Herman Lane will be on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at New Hebron Baptist Church in New Hebron, MS at 12 PM with burial to follow in the New Hebron Cemetery in New Hebron, MS. Bro. Gene Douglas and Bro. Mike Grenn will be officiating the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at New Hebron Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, from 10 AM until 12 PM.

Mr. Lane, 94, of New Hebron, MS, passed from this life on Monday, March 9, 2020, at his residence. He was born on February 27, 1926 in New Hebron, MS, to Homer and Julie Shivers Lane.

He loved music but he really enjoyed bluegrass, he played the mandolin and guitar.  He taught all his children and grandchildren how to play the guitar.  Going to the VFW on Fridays and playing and eating fish were his favorite pastimes.  In the spring and summer, he enjoyed getting out, cutting his yards and growing flowers. He was a great father and grandfather and will be missed.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Virginia Tuggle Lane of 42 years, sisters, Dorothy Lane, Delma Daughdrill, Luella Little; and brother, Prentiss Lane.

Survivors are his son, William David Lane and wife Brenda; daughters, Linda Stephens and husband Bo, Brenda Douglas and husband Gene; grandchildren, Chad Douglas, Josh Douglas, Lee Criswell and Kathryn Wickstrom; great grandchildren, Baylea Douglas, Aubrey Douglas, Tucker Douglas, Zoey Douglas, Remi Douglas, Easton Criswell, Blake Wickstrom, Wyatt Wickstrom, Jack Criswell and Gage White.
