Danny Lamar Bassett, 71, of Silver Creek, Mississippi, passed away on July 14,2026. He was born to J. R. Bassett and Emma Crosby Bassett, on January 10, 1955 in Riley, South Carolina.

Danny enjoyed working in the garden and being outdoors. He liked to swim, eat, celebrate his wife on their anniversary, and to spend time with his family.

Danny is survived by: a brother, Jimmy Bassett; a daughter, Mandy Bassett, a son, Danny Bassett, Jr; four granddaughters: Autumn Barricks, Emma Bassett, Isabella Bassett, and Taeko Bassett; and great grandson, Bailey Barricks.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Janice Bassett; brothers, Robert Bassett, Billy Gass; a sister, Angela Gass.

The family has entrusted Wilson Funeral Home with the arrangements. A Visitation is scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2026 from 9:00 AM at Wilson Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will follow at 10:00 AM.
