Mr. Dan M. Godwin, 76, of Monticello, MS passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at his residence in Monticello, MS. He was born March 10, 1943, in Beaumont, MS to T.J. and Velma McSwain Godwin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home in Monticello, MS. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Wilson Funeral Home and the graveside services will follow in Tilton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. LaDon Dawson and Bro. Wayne Killingsworth will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife Maxine Hamilton Godwin of Monticello; daughter, Sandra Peters of Monticello, Lori Nathlich of Daley City, CA; son Dan Godwin Jr. of Pacifica, CA; one brother Joe Godwin and wife Bonnie of Gautier, MS; sister-in-law Paulette Roberts and husband Dennis of Vancleave, MS; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter Abbigale Walker of Monticello, MS.

Those preceding him in death were his parents, one brother Tony Godwin, two sisters Pattie Blackman and Nell Evans.

The family of Mr. Godwin would like to express their gratitude to the Deaconess Hospice and home health, Hailey Hamilton and Marshall Morgan for the care provided during his illness.
