Mr. Curtis Ray Kirkland, 71 of Monticello, MS passed away on January 15, 2019 GV Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Curtis was born October 2, 1947 in Crystal Springs, MS to James Curtis and Bennie Lee Lambert Kirkland.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Sauls Valley Baptist Church in Monticello and continuing Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 9:00 AM until service time at Sauls Valley Church in Monticello at 2:00 PM with graveside services following in Sauls Valley Cemetery. Bro. Winston Fortenberry will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Curtis worked as a carpenter and painter; he served his country in the Vietnam area in the United States Army. Curtis loved his family; he was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Jewan Kirkland of Monticello, daughter Tiffney Barnes and husband Larry, sons Wayne Kirkland and wife Tina, Tyson Kirkland and wife Kayce, sister-in-law Michelle Kirkland, 6 grandchildren Tyler Davis, Trey Kirkland, Maddux Kirkland, Alissa Barnes, Ava Kirkland, Jacob Kirkland, 1 great grandchild Haven White and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Tommy Kirkland and sister Martha Reid.
