Curtis Vaughn King, 78 was called home from this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at his residence in Jackson, MS. Curtis was born October 22, 1937 in Lawrence County, MS, to John Allen and Alice Jordan King.
There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Wilson Funeral Home and will continue at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 12:00 pm until the service at 1:00 pm. The graveside service will follow at New Hope Baptist Church. Bro. Tyrone

Mr. King was a retired carpenter foreman. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed playing dominos and pool, and building things with his hands. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Surviving Curtis are his son, Curtis Allen King of Jackson, MS; daughters, Terry King McAlpin and husband Donald of Brandon, MS, and Barbara "Sam" King Stephens and husband Ricky of Brandon, MS; sister, Gladys King Neal of Monticello, MS; grandchildren, Michela McAlpin Haggerty and husband Dan of Brandon, MS, Caleb Stephens of Brandon, MS, Cambrey Stephens of Brandon, MS; great grandchildren, Daniel, Alexxa, and Sidni; mother of his children, Carolyn Loper King; a special friend, Marti Stuart; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Proceeding him in death is parents, John Allen and Alice Jordan King; brothers, Delton King, D. H. King, J.S. King and John Paul King; and sisters, Marie King Calcote, Ethel King Hill, Ruth King Griffith and Ruby Lee King.
