The beautiful soul this world knew as Cindy Calcote Smith passed from this life at her home on February 11, 2023 . Cindy was born December 31, 1962 to her parents, Barney and Deloris Morgan Calcote.

Cindy was known by her family and friends as a kind and giving heart. In her 60 years, Cindy's empathy and heart to give to others who were struggling will long be remembered by those she helped and loved. She was a loving mother and grandmother to one daughter and grandson. "But love your enemies, and do them good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most high: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil. Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful" (Luke 6:35-36). Cindy's giving, hard-working hands will be forever missed by her family and friends. In her memory, give in this same way.

Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Deloris Morgan Calcote; her sister, Gwen Ruby; and her nephew, Kevin Hedgepeth.

Cindy is survived by her father, Barney Calcote; daughter, Linzi Blacklidge; son-in-law, Greg Blacklidge; grandson, Mason Cosper; brother, Barney Calcote Jr.; and a sister, Tanya Calcote.

A graveside service remembering Cindy will be held at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, February 12, at 2:00 PM. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
