Charles Ray Douglas, 90, of Sontag, MS, passed away January 8, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Douglas was born May 7, 1930, in Sontag, to James Bailey and Jennie Douglas.  He was the youngest of 9 children.

He graduated from Monticello high school in 1948 as Mr. Monticello High School and married Carolyn Mahaffey in 1950.  Charles Ray attended Ole Miss with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and was enlisted in the army from 1950-1952.

He was instrumental in setting up the accounting department of St. Regis and worked there from 1968 until he retired from Georgia Pacific in 1990.

Mr. Douglas was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Douglas, his parents, and siblings.

Charles Ray is survived by his only daughter, Peggy Burnett (Ronnie), granddaughters Christa Caldwell (Mike) and Jennie Hensarling (Jay), and his great grand children, Mitchell and Caroline Caldwell and Andrew, Zachary, and Amelia Kate Hensarling.
