Obituary

Cathy Lorraine (Mullins) McAnally was born on March 23, 1956 in Tylertown, Mississippi. She was ushered to Heaven on January 18, 2024 at her home in Jayess, Mississippi at the age of 67.

Cathy is survived by her loving partner, Jimmy McAnally, both her husband and her best friend. Her daughter, Becky (White) Haley and husband Jeff with their two boys, Garson and Gavin. Her granddaughter, Alex (Bozeman) Cartwright and husband Kai with their children, Tripp, Ava, Rheyan, and Conner. Grandson Alston Bozeman and wife Paige with their children, Marley and Silas. Granddaughter Audriana (Bozeman) Ezell and husband Brock. Former son-in-law and father to Alex, Alston, and Audriana, Jeffrey Bozeman. Cathy's surviving siblings include sister Charlotte (Mullins) Clark and husband Jerry Clark, brother Sherman Mullins and wife Sarah (Harvey) Mullins, and sister Peggy (Mullins) Buchanan. Cathy is also survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews who she loved as her own- Christy and Keith Van, Jacob and Beth Clark, Amanda (Mullins) Smith, Anna (Mullins) Davis, Missy (Buchanan) Jones, Shanta (Buchanan) Killingsworth, Rhonda (Buchanan) Gentry, Monica (Dunaway) , Shannon (Dunaway) Arbuckle Lowden, as well as many other great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many loyal friends who she showed great love to at every opportunity. She was "Mawmaw Cathy" or "Aunt Cathy" to many outside of blood relation.

Cathy was predeceased by her father Gardner Mullins and mother Dorothy (Carney) Mullins. Her stepfather, who raised her and the rest of the family as his own children, Wess Mullins. Her oldest daughter, Kimberly (White) Oliver, as well as sister Nena (Mullins) Dunaway and brother Paul Mullins.

Cathy was born and raised in the Jayess/Topeka community, and spent her childhood playing in creeks, singing with her sisters, and attending church. She worked in a variety of jobs in Lawrence County, but no matter the job you met her in, whether she was at the front desk at the dry cleaners or behind the register at Pawpaw Tony's Country Store, you were met with a sweet smile and kind spirit. Cathy worked hard throughout her life but work never took priority over what really brought her joy- spending her time loving her family and friends. In any case of
trouble or despair, if you called Cathy, she would be there ready to give a hug around the neck.

She was a compassionate woman with an enormous heart, but she also had a fun and adventurous spirit. She loved travelling with her husband Jimmy and her family, whether that was looking for wildflowers in Texas in the Spring or visiting the mountains of Tennessee for Christmas. She was never afraid of a fast car, or even a matching tattoo with her grandchildren.

Cathy was a beautiful woman inside and out and will be remembered for her caring personality, her entertaining laugh when you got her tickled, and her ability to make everyone she met feel warm and loved. She is already and will always be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial will be held celebrating the life of Cathy Mullins McAnally on Monday, January 22, with visitation beginning at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and services beginning at 3 o'clock at Sauls Valley Baptist Church.
