Funeral services for Catherine Hammond will be on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Divide Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS at 2:00 PM. Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home.
Catherine, 78, of Jayess, MS, passed from this life on November 30, 2017, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Ms Hammond was born on September 27, 1939 in Monticello, MS to James R. and Ola Ballard Nelson.

She is survived by her son Wyman Eugene Hammond, two grandchildren Eugene and Joshua Hammond, three great grandchildren Raylon, Avalon and Brekken Hammond all of Jayess, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dudley Hammond, sister Opalene Boyd, and two brothers James "Bud" Nelson and Prentiss Nelson.
