Mrs. Carolyn Ballard, 81 of Sontag, MS passed away Sunday, July,6, 2025 at her residence in Sontag, Mississippi. She was born March 26, 1944 in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, July 8, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The funeral will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church with burial in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag, Mississippi.

Mrs. Ballard was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She enjoyed drinking coffee and watching NASCAR or NCIS. She helped run Jay's Restaurant of Monticello, MS, along with her life long partner, Jay Beeson. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and making sure everyone was taken care of and to feel like they were at home. Carolyn loved family get-to-gathers, and being the glue that held our family throughout her lifetime. We love and miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father: Orian and Katie Mae Mills; her husband: the late Dudley Ballard; her son: Jerry Wayne Ballard; and a lifelong partner: J.L. Beeson.

Survivors include: her daughters: Deneane (Ken) Lawrence of Sontag, MS, and Debra (Rickey) Hill of Sontag, MS; son: Doyle Ballard of Sontag, MS and David (Judy) Ballard of Brookhaven, MS; sister: Cathryn Stallings of Maben, MS; grandchildren: Cole (Haley) Ballard, Ryan Ballard, Danielle Sills, Natheon (Jennifer) Ervin, William Ervin, Chase (Randall) Ballard, Malarie (Christian) Shumaker, Lane (Meagan) Bessonette, and Evan (Carla) Lawrence. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren.
