Carey Ballard's Obituary
Carey Ballard, 79, was called home from this life on Saturday, July11, 2015, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, MS. Mr. Ballard was born December 1, 1935, in Lawrence County, MS to Toxie Ballard and Cornelia Lambert Ballard.
Visitation will be at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello, MS on Sunday July 12, 2015, from 6:00 until 9:00 PM and will continue at New Hope Baptist Church on Monday July 13, 2015, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 PM. The graveside service will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS. Bro. Joey Faulk will officiate the services. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Ballard was a retired construction worker. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, his neighbors and gardening. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by parents, Toxie Ballard and Cornelia Lambert Ballard; and infant sister, Donnie Dean Ballard.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Betty Hyde Ballard; son, Revis Ballard and wife Sherry of Jayess, MS; daughters, Karen Ballard Price and husband Roger of Jayess, MS, and Tammy Ballard Beard and husband Keith of Jayess, MS; brothers, VW Ballard of Monticello, MS, and Toxie Hidgon Ballard and wife Martha of Monticello, MS; sister, Modena Ballard Wilson of Monticello, MS; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Tyler Beard, Randy Carr, Danny Lambert, Jimmy Barton, Heath Sistrunk and David Ballard.
