Cabe "Sonny" Barnett, 76 was called home from this life on Saturday, September 24, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer at Oasis Health & Rehab in Yazoo City, MS. Cabe was born in Lawrence County, MS on September 7, 1940 to Talmadge and Jewell Herrington Barnett.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Crooked Creek Baptist Church with funeral services at 2:00 PM. Bro. Chad Carney, Dr. Dave Caves and Bro. Trey Spangler officiating the services. Burial will follow in Cliburn Cemetery.
Mr. Barnett worked at Becthel Construction for thirty plus years where he retired at the age of seventy. Sonny loved to fix things and could build anything. He loved his family unconditionally and would do anything for anyone with no questions asked.
Surviving Sonny are his two sons, Tony Edward (Jennifer) of Utica, MS and Mark Howard Barnett of Raymond, MS; two sisters, Tootsie Bullock (Emmitt) and Nell Jenkins; two grandchildren, Brittney Nicole Moore (Daniel) and Jacob Edward Barnett; one great grandchild, Rylee Kris Moore and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his parents, Talmadge and Jewell Herrington Barnett, two siblings Calvin "Peanut" Barnett and Dorothy Davis.
