Bobby Vernon Smith, 60, was called home from this life on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. Bobby was born February 12, 1957 in Monticello, MS to Vernon (Pete) and Johnnie Evans Smith Strong.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017, from 5 PM until 9 PM at New Zion Baptist Church with funeral services on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM with graveside services following in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Paul Stephens will preside over the services. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving Bobby are brothers Mike Smith (Kerri) of Monticello, MS, Dale Smith of Pattison, MS, Terry Hugh Strong (Kay) of Oakvale, MS; sister Kathy Culpepper (Shelton) of Bay Springs, MS, and numerous nephews and one niece.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Vernon (Pete) Smith, Johnnie Evans Smith Strong and step- father Hugh Vernon Strong.
