Billy Ray Sauls' Obituary
Mr. Billy Ray Sauls, 86, of Monticello, MS passed from this life on Thursday,
November 26, 2020 at The State Veterans Home in Collins, MS. Billy Ray was
born June 9, 1934, in Tilton, Mississippi to Winnfield Scott and Mattie Pevey
Sauls.
Visitation will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Wilson Funeral
Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM at Sauls Family Cemetery in
Tilton, MS. Elder Luke Addison will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sauls was a proud Marine. He served in the United States Marine Corp from
1953 until 1957 during the Korean War. Before receiving his honorable discharge,
he was a field radio operator; he received the National Defense Service Medal,
United Nations Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
During his twilight years, Paw Billy's grandchildren were the absolute light of his
life. He looked forward to their visits and got a kick out of their antics. He loved
to hear all about their adventures and always had plenty of advice to offer.
Billy Ray is survived by his daughter, Amy Sauls Fredette and husband Jamie of
Jayess, MS; son Will Sauls; grandchildren Troy Fredette, Jamie Claire Fredette,
Luke Fredette, Isabella Killingsworth, and Skylar Russell; one sister Dorothy Jean
Martin of Beaumont, TX.
Those preceding him in death were his parents; seven siblings Boots Carney, Laura
Ellen Givens, Buddy Sauls, Pat Sauls, Doris Barker, Glynn Sauls, and Jimmy
Sauls.
