As a young man, Billy honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, Afterwards he worked as a Superntendent for Trend Construction before retiring to the life he really loved, being outdoors, fishing for catfish on Pearl River and hunting with his dogs in the woods. He taught his family how to live off the land and grew a large garden and fruit trees every year.
