Billy Mack
Bourn
October 31, 1934 – January 18, 2022
Billy Mack Bourn, age 87, of Arm, Mississippi passed away gently on January 18, 2022, into the arms of his Savior, joining his beloved wife and parents in Heaven.
Billy was born on October 31, 1934, to John Maxie and Myrtle Polk Bourn, the eldest of their eight children. He attended school in the Oakvale area, and graduated from Monticello High School in 1953. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany as a radio operator. After the Army, Billy began a long and successful career with the US Postal Service in Jackson, Mississippi. He married the love of his life, Lillian Garrett, on August 2, 1958. They made their home in Jackson for over 30 years and had four children—Jocelyn, Cris, Stefan and Anna. After retirement from the Postal Service, he and Lil moved back to Lawrence County and spent many peaceful years enjoying time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and with his sister and six brothers and the many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He greatly enjoyed his retired life in the Arm community, tending to his yard, feeding his fish and being outdoors. His grandchildren cherished their time with him in "the country", exploring the woods, swimming in the creeks, and fishing in the old pond.
Billy is survived by his children Jocelyn Doran (Mike), Cris Bourn (Mary Ann), Stefan Bourn (Lydia) and Anna Robinson (Steve); grandchildren Ben Cain, Lee Cain, Christian Bourn, Olivia Bourn, Jessica Bourn and Reed Robinson; great-grandchildren Oliver Cain, Lily Cain and Sophie Cain; his siblings Kenny Bourn, Carolyn Harvey, Johnny Bourn, Tommy Bourn, David Bourn, Gordon Bourn and Richard Bourn.
Billy will be missed by many. He was a kind, humble and generous man who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
God blessed Billy in his final years by sending him loving caregivers. Billy and his family are very thankful for the love, care and support that his caregivers gave to him and his family. Mary Bridges, Hattie Pittman, Jennifer Blanden and Jason Buckley were his "Angels on Earth."
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 22, 2022 from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM at Wilson Funeral Home with graveside services following in Monticello Municipal Cemetery. Rev. Mike Evans will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
