Beulah "Betsy" Rhoden 95 was called home from this life on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at the Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, MS. Mrs. Rhoden was born June 6, 1920 in Bogalusa, LA to Jasper Boyd and Mary Thigpen.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Wilson Funeral Home 10:00 A.M. till 12:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be Wednesday August 26, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel. The graveside service will follow in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rhoden was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, and she was a member of the Eastern Star. Betsy loved to garden, was an amazing cook, and enjoyed animals. She enjoyed watching sports, the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Braves and WWE (wrestling).
Survivors are her children James W. Rhoden, Jr. and Dawn of Logansport, IN; Marilyn Breed and Roger of Mechanicsburg, PA; Gloria Rizzo of Tampa, FL. Grandchildren are Shana Aldridge Krapovicky , Madison, MS; Danielle Black, Hattiesburg, MS; Justin Aldridge, Gulfport, MS; Lauren Breed Berrios and Ty, Mechanicsburg, PA; James Wesley Rhoden III, Ellijay, GA; Trevor Rizzo, Tampa, FL and 8 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jasper Boyd and Mary Thigpen, her husband James Wesley Rhoden Sr. and five brothers.
