Alma Lois Gunnell, 92 was called home from this life on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, MS. Mrs. Alma was born November 1, 1923 in Lincoln County, MS.
There will be a time of visitation from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Providence Baptist Church with the Service Monday, July 4, at 11:00 AM the graveside service will be held in the Church Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Doctor Will Wall and Brother Les Hughes will officiate the services.
Mrs. Gunnell was the oldest living member of Providence Baptist Church and for many years was the pianist. She loved her church and church family and will be missed by all.
Surviving Mrs. Alma is her five children Jackie Daley and husband Buck of Topeka; Joy Teruel of McComb; Nicky Gunnell and wife Shelia of Topeka; Cathy Gatlin and husband Cliff of Madison; Tammy Tanksley and husband Brad of Topeka; one sister Rubye Moss of Raymond, MS; nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren
Preceding her in death is parents Fleet Maxwell and Cabie Wilson Maxwell, husband Jack D. Gunnell two brothers Victor and Otto Maxwell, three sisters Bess Williams, Virgie Ruth Lofton, and Lillian Brock.
