Mr. Alfred Laird, 80, of Silver Creek, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at his residence in Silver Creek. Alfred was born March 22, 1942 in Lincoln County, Mississippi to Versie and Allie Smith Laird.

Visitation will be held at Hepzibah Baptist Church in Silver Creek, MS on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.   Graveside services will follow at Monticello Municipal Cemetery in Monticello. Bro. Matthew Robinson will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Alfred retied from Kellwood Manufacturing in Monticello as a vice president of operations. Alfred was a member of Hepzibah Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Director.

Alfred enjoyed his family and spending time with his five grandchildren. He loved days at his camp house and enjoyed woodworking.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonita Laird; daughters, Celeste Ashley (Alan) and Charemon Rushing (Michael) all of Silver Creek. Five grandchildren, Benjamin, Leanna, Emily, Erin and Andrew; one great-grandchild, Henry; one brother, Barto Laird.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents.
